<p>You should have now completed the Detox Phase and be ready for step two the Maintenance Plan.</p>
<p>One of the challenges is finding out what body type you have. Once you discover what works foods work best for you, you&#8217;ll want to maintain those foods.</p>
<p>All four body types need the same key basic healing foods. However, the amount of protein and fat will vary. Because different body types (Adrenal, Ovary, Thyroid and Liver) need different amounts of protein, you will add more protein based on how your body responds to the initial phase. This change (additional protein) will be done gradually until you find the right amount. If your body responds better to high vegetable, low-protein foods (Liver or Liver &amp; Thyroid types), don&#8217;t change anything. If your weakness is within the adrenals or ovaries, you will need more protein in the diet. And with protein comes more fat, since they are usually together as foods.</p>
<p>The strategy is to find out what gives you the best overall improvement. However, since weight loss is just one indicator of improvement, we will look at all six additional factors.</p>
<p>The way you will judge or know when to start adding more protein will be by feedback from ALL seven of these body changes:</p>
<p><strong><em>1. Energy level </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>2. Sleep quality </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>3. Amount of sleep </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>4. Cravings </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>5. Overall digestion </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>6. Inches lost </em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>7. Weight lost </em></strong></p>
<p>To find the correct amount of protein you need, you will be adjusting your eating to find out what diet will give you the maximum energy, best quality sleep, the least cravings, and the best overall digestion. These things tell you if the program is working. If these factors are high, the weight comes off as a result:</p>
<p>While on the Detox Phase, for all four body types, do a diet of high vegetable, no animal protein and low fat . After the Detox Phase, for Liver and Thyroid Body Types, introduce a diet of high vegetable, low protein and low fat. For the Adrenal &amp; Ovary Body Types, introduce a diet of high vegetable, higher protein and moderate fat.</p>
<p>You will only move on and add more protein if you have low energy, poor sleep, cravings, poor digestion and no inch or weight loss. Low energy includes moodiness, irritability, lethargy or depression. However, if you are having positive changes with the Detox Phase (high vegetable, no animal protein and low fat), you will continue what worked. I have found the majority of people get the best results with very little protein. A smaller percentage will lose more weight on higher amounts of protein and fat, or somewhere in between.</p>
<p>Remember your goal is to GET HEALTHY so that your body can burn fat. Getting healthy requires an initial healing phase, which might not show up at first in weight loss, but will show up as improvement in these other factors energy, sleep, cravings, digestion, and inches lost. Depending on what&#8217;s happening with your body, you may need more or less protein for this phase.</p>

<p>Keeping estrogen low is also essential to getting the weight off. This means consuming foods that are antiestrogenic cruciferous vegetables. It also means avoiding growth hormones (mostly estrogen) in the food supply. I would recommend avoiding soy as well, since soy has plant estrogenic qualities.</p>
<p><em><strong>Summary </strong></em></p>
<p>Fat is potential energy. Fat has enough potential energy to allow a lean person to run 800 miles or last 90 days without food. But most people, with the exception of long-distance runners, never learn how to tap into this amazing potential. Have you ever noticed that long-distance runners are very thin? This is because they normally remain in the aerobic mode when they run and therefore burn fat as their primary fuel.</p>
<p>Some people (especially <strong>Adrenal body types</strong>) are initially too unhealthy and fatigued to exercise. If this is the case, we recommend restoring your body&#8217;s health through correct foods and quality sleep before even starting an exercise program.</p>

<p>Growth hormone is the anti-aging hormone, and through anaerobic exercise one can keep this hormone within an optimal range. Testosterone also follows growth hormone, which enhances lean muscle mass. Overall, one will burn more fat with anaerobic exercise, but remember there is a day or two delay.</p>

<p><em>With high-intensity exercise also comes stress. Any stress triggers the hormone cortisol, which can counter the fat-burning hormones. You accomplish this by SHORT INTENSE BOUTS OF EXERCISE with LOTS OF REST IN BETWEEN. This way the muscles will be activated without stressing the adrenals too much. Overtraining will defeat the entire goal. Once you activate the fat-burning hormones, you can sit back and let them do their job. Make sure you are getting enough rest between exercise periods as well as keeping any and all sugars nil. These are small but important points. </em></p>
