Hello,

A recent patient, Georgette, turned me on to this most incredible shake. You have to try it and you will not even taste any kale! Here’s what you need to do to make it.

In a blender mix the following ingredients:

1 ½ cups of water

½ cup of cherry juice (get tart if you can find it)

2 cups of kale (cut the stems out and chop it up)

2 cups of frozen blueberries

1 ripe banana

2 tablespoons of flaxseed (grind in coffee grinder)

It’s best to drink within the first 30 minutes; however, if you refrigerate it, most of the nutrition will last over night.

Enjoy.

This drink is a nutrient enhancement on steroids. Just one cup of kale has over 30,000 IU of vitamin K.

Body fat is not melted like butter! Fat burning happens after exercise, when the body is at rest. Sugar impedes fat burning, as does insufficient exercise intensity.

Exercise has the ability to trigger hormones that then release the fat for energy 24 to 48 hours later.

Exercise does NOT burn fat directly at all. The way fat is melted is not through some heating of the body. Fat cannot be melted like butter. The fat cells are storage centers for energy as an energy reserve. Fat exists to help you survive. When the body goes out of balance with its energy consumption, it will then hold energy.

Exercise has the ability to trigger hormones that then release the fat for energy 24 to 48 hours later.

Here’s how it works.

1. You stress and tear down the muscles of the body.
2. The body then builds back these muscles a little stronger.
3. The energy used to build these muscles can come from two sources: sugar or fat.
4. If you are not eating sugar, the body is forced to use fat.
5. This process occurs during the downtime the rest period.

So here are the THREE biggest mistakes.

The first one is NOT stressing or tearing down the muscles enough. This happens through intensity. If the exercise is not intense, insufficient hormones will be triggered.

The second mistake is consuming some or even a little sugar in the diet, which will automatically prevent ANY fat burning from occurring. Even three ounces of juice will prevent fat burning for eight hours. Wine will do it too.

The third mistake is that the person is working out EVERY DAY and never allowing the hormones to be activated, since these fat-burning hormones work in the off day NOT during the exercise.

Summary

1. Do intense exercise (see chapter 14 in my book The 7 Principles of Fat Burning for the exact pattern). Also, if the adrenals are weak, you’ll need to first do the Adrenal program for a while.
2. Avoid all sugars and hidden sugars.
3. Exercise only every other day. And in some cases, every two days might produce more weight loss.

There Are Four Different Body Shapes, Each Influenced by Hormones. Many people think that the shape of the body is purely genetic and there is nothing that can be done about it. But our bodies and our body shapes are actually controlled by hormones. Take the Body Type Quiz to determine your body type. Then chose the matching program to create a healthy body.

First of all, the maximum fluid weight loss a person can experience is almost unlimited. I have had people lose 10 pounds per day for many days. If your friend is losing 8 pounds per day and you are only losing 2, you might think you are doing badly, when in fact what you’re experiencing is normal.

Let’s get into why people gain weight or simply plateau.

First of all, the maximum fluid weight loss a person can experience is almost unlimited. I have had people lose 10 pounds per day for many days. But the maximum fat loss is only 1 to 2 pounds per week. If your friend is losing 8 pounds per day and you are only losing 2, you might think you are doing badly, when in fact what you’re experiencing is normal. Not knowing this can cause you to give up.

Another situation occurs when your adrenal glands are burnt out. When the stress glands (adrenals) overwork, they can start to break down your proteins, especially in the thigh muscles and the butt. These become flabby and weak. What’s happening is your body is eating itself up and turning muscle into sugar. This higher level of sugar in the blood does three things: (1) it causes insulin to convert sugar into fat around the stomach region; (2) it creates a swing to low blood sugar, causing cravings for sweets; and (3) it blocks fat-burning, because in the presence of sugar the body will not burn fat at all.

When this person starts a good weight-loss program, they will not lose anything at first except maybe some small amount of water weight. However, their energy goes up, they sleep better, and their strength increases. But no weight loss!

Why?

Because the body is healing the proteins in the muscles first. Protein weighs more than fat. The person simply needs to continue (especially the Adrenal diet) and make sure they keep a nearly constant supply of protein in the diet this is why I like people to eat raw nuts between meals. Then the body will not go after its own proteins. The person will eventually lose weight after the body has healed.

You don’t have to lose weight to get healthy; it’s just the reverse you need to get healthy so you can lose weight. Different bodies need different diets.

Stay tuned.
