Are Low-Calorie Diets Making Us Fat?

Glycemic or Sugar Foods

Sugar triggers insulin, the fat-making, fat-storing hormone. In fact, in the presence of insulin not only will fat be blocked from being used as fuel BUT sugar will also be converted to fat. Given the choice, the body will ALWAYS prefer sugar to fat as a fuel. This means that in order to burn fat, you can’t have any sugar in your diet. The absence of insulin (or sugar) promotes fat burning and weight loss. Hidden sugars are often the culprit, and are found in food containing high fructose corn …

Kale and Blueberry Shake Recipe

A recent patient, Georgette, turned me on to this most incredible shake.

You have to try it and you will not even taste any kale!

It’s best to drink within the first 30 minutes; however, if you refrigerate it, most of the nutrition will last over night.

Enjoy.

This drink is a nutrient enhancement on steroids. Just 1 cup of kale has over 30,000 IU of vitamin K.

Body-Influencing Factors

Body-influencing factors include junk foods and other substances that have a negative influence. These include packaged and boxed foods, alcohol, caffeine, drugs, hormones, pesticides, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, artificial coloring, trans fats, and MSG. Many of these substances can damage the liver, which is like a filter that keeps the body clean.
Avoid Mono-sodium Glutamate (MSG): MSG is a flavor enhancer, but it causes fluid retention. There are many hidden sources of MSG: modified food starch, autolyzed yeast, calcium caseinate, sodium caseinate, hydrolyzed protein, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, carrageenan, glutamic acid and yeast …

Women, Menopause & Vitamin E

There is not a cell in your body that can stay alive without Vitamin E. Vitamin E has many healing properties including creating sex hormones. When a female goes through menopause she loses 100x her vitamin E because the storage of vitamin E is in the pituitary gland. This happens when the ovaries stop releasing eggs at age 52 and presents itself in a lack of sex drive, dry skin along with hair and weight gain due to a shift in hormones. Don’t ever take synthetic vitamin E because it …

Why DIET and EXERCISE Don’t Work Anymore?

Image via Wikipedia

This is a perfect example of everyone knows : You are told by all sorts of experts that the reason why you are FAT is because you don’t exercise enough or because you eat too much. This might be partially true. However, how do you explain the skinny guy who can eat like a horse and never gain an ounce? And what about the person who exercises two hours per day, seven days per week, runs 26-mile marathons, and loses ZERO weight?
In my new book, The 7 …

For anyone who is having difficulty losing weight, the educational step is the missing link.
For instance, if you were to read only about Liver Enhancement in my book The 7 Principles of Fat Burning and then expect to stick to that, it just wouldn’t work. This is what everyone else and nearly every diet book currently on the market is doing only telling people what diet to follow. To be successful, you HAVE to educate yourself; you have to shift your way at looking at weight loss; you need to …
